I apologize for the delay in my getting you information on the archery range at the WMA and next steps – I wanted to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row before I sent more information. I don’t think it will be necessary to update the MOU; the current agreement will hold since nothing is changing with the range other than me being added to the contact list.
Casey Mitchell and Ann Moser with the WMA will send out setup and opening information to clubs, volunteers and anyone else that signed up for their email notifications as usual. They will need volunteers for setup likely in April, and we are all hoping for extra volunteers for replanting when they need those as well. I am not a biologist but I do know they have to do the replanting at certain times, so they will let everyone know.
Insurance is covering the damaged targets and it sounds like we have a few clubs/organizations that have done or are doing fundraisers for more targets (cash donations are a logistical challenge as a state agency). It’s been wonderful to see so many people interested in helping to rebuild the range and I’m really excited that it looks like the opening will be on the normal date of May 1st (tentatively, I try not to guarantee anything).
I’m so appreciative of you and all of your members that have offered to help. We truly wouldn’t be able to have the range without the help of your clubs and organizations.
