Giving Back Through Archery!
On Thursday, June 4, Idaho Traditional Bowhunters was honored to help organize a youth archery activity at the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Treasure Valley Backyard Barbecue in Boise.
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is the voice for our wild public lands, waters, and wildlife. Their mission is to protect North America’s hunting and fishing heritage through education, advocacy, and conservation efforts that ensure future generations can continue to enjoy quality habitat and public access to the places we all love to explore.
A huge thank you goes out to Lifetime ITB Member and USA Archery Certified Instructor Janet Houlihan and her husband Bill, who made the trip from Cascade to volunteer their time and share their passion for archery with the next generation.
Over the course of two hours, nearly 20 young archers stepped onto the range, learned the fundamentals of safe shooting, and experienced the excitement of sending arrows downrange.
We would also like to thank Archery Central for contributing the Standing Bear and Bedded Ram targets. These realistic targets helped create an unforgettable experience for the kids and added an extra level of fun to the event.
The future of traditional archery is bright, and it’s always rewarding to see new archers discover the joy of the sport. Events like this help connect young people to the outdoors, build confidence, and inspire the next generation of hunters, conservationists, and archers.
